Dobermanns are a medium to large dog with tight skin and muscling. 
Powerful, fast, super agile and one of the top 5 most intelligent breeds. 
For this reason they require a lot of training and exercise. 
They need a fully enclosed yard with at least 5 foot fences. 
They only have a single thin coat so do not handle extremes of weather. 
They are bred as personal guards to be by your side at all times for this reason they are also known as Velcro dogs. Also have a stare some say capable of staring into your soul. 
Usually have a fairly high prey drive so this needs to be taken into consideration when expecting them to live with other animals. 
When puppies they can be highly excitable nip everything in sight and jumpy. 
Not very good around small children or elderly.
