We’re off to visit this beach today with our two babies…should be fun! Nice to know there is a beach somewhere that doesn’t have restrictions on our dogs!!! They should be able to enjoy the beach too!!

We are here right now and it is just lovely, very dog centric and there are HEAPS of doggy pals to play and socialize with

Are there separate fenced areas for big dogs and little dogs, or does anyone know if there are any in Melbourne? They have them in Brisbane – much safer for the tiny ones.

No separate areas for big or little fur kids – only one huge area for them all to enjoy. Sorry, don’t know if there are any such places in Melbourne :(

Try this park today, Affen and Tobby both enjoyed themselves and made a lot of new friends. We have learnt to bring more play toys with us to share. The only problem with this park is lack of parking.

The Boxer Club of Victoria is having a members day out this Sunday 22 April from 230 pm at Brighton Dog Beach. It will be a real experience to see so many boxers at once!!!!

We went to this beach with 3 year old Ben (his first beach visit ever) about 10 days ago. Cold and windy with drizzle, but Ben had a fantastic time. Photos of Ben on the beach at our web site. (what is Ben doing now-Ben at the beach)

Hi, I was talking to someone today and they told me about this beach, I had didn’t know it existed because I live over the other side of the city, I rang to council to confirm it was a fenced off area and they said no it’s not a fully secure area for the dogs i.e. they can get out because it’s not fenced off, is it actually fenced or isn’t it? Because I am tending to believe this website! Thanks.

The dog beach is fenced off from the foot path and is separated from the main beach area however the fence doesn’t extend into the water. If your dog is a good swimmer it could get out.

Well surprisingly the council is wrong, there is a fenced dog area off the main beach near the end of Sandown st.

Our favourite dog beach! Unfortunately not the best place for humans to swim but great for doggy’s of all different types. We feel very safe here.

Took my French bulldog Ernie here for the first time.. He loved running around freely and playing with all the other dogs. All dogs were very friendly. Will definently visit this beach again!

Took my Labradoodle, and Jack Russell down yesterday, we all had a great time! All very safe and fenced in. I was worried about people being able to manage their dogs, but everyone had complete control over their pooches, and I didn’t see a single doggie disagreement!

This is my absolute favourite dog beach to take my dogs to! Completely fenced (unless your dog can swim around the fences I suppose but the distance is a fair way so I’ve never seen it happen), with sand, water, bags and bins. Nearby there is a water bowl at the entrance to the road or nearby at the Brighton Baths cafe – which has a dog friendly deck area where you can enjoy coffee, food or wine!

If you feel like walk, there’s a beautiful walking path that stretches along the bayside with more water bowls available at the Sails on the Bay restaurant. This is a favourite area for me to go running with my dogs because I don’t need to carry water with me.

Oh and there is also ANOTHER cafe nearby if you walk along the path towards North Road that also has water bowls outside and where you can sit with your dogs and enjoy food/coffee etc. Also they will serve you outside so you don’t need to leave your dogs tied up at all :)

My dog throroughly enjoys this beach, although we avoid the place somedays when we see the odd few people with kids building sand castles, screaming and running around…. this is not safe behaviour at a ‘dog beach’ and quite worrying

Me and my fiancé took our labbies here for the first time and it was absolutely amazing! Highly recommended for all dog lovers who want to spoil their dogs with a day out. All the people were incredibly friendly, the area is safely fenced off, and every dog was very well behaved and just enjoying the day. Will be coming back again very soon!
