First dog park we visited and were nicely impressed with it. Lovely trees and it’s a bit of a circuit so you can walk the length of it, do a u-turn and come out the exit which is different than the entrance. Nice people and well maintained.

We have become kind of pooch park junkies now, this was our 3rd in 2 days.

There was ample room for the dogs to run. Dont quite understand why the fence divides, guessing it is a control thing in case some dogs are grumpy, but it could work the opposite we personally dont like it. The area is unfortunately quite dry but does have heaps of trees. The water for the dogs is not good at all. A couple of removable bowls at the end of the run & a water fountain with not much pressure behind it & there is a sheep type trough near the final exit which is full, but with dirty water with green algae growing around the insides of it – yuk.

Sorry we wont be back, but each to their own, but it was good to try. 01/01/09

Water fountans for dogs and their humans at each end and a fence in the middle with gate. Much improved!

We love this park! It’s close to our house, has lots of shade, and is great for socializing dogs as there never seems to be a day without a few pooches running around. Not a good place to go if it’s been raining, though. The mud gets thick and smelly.

This park could be improved further, by closing one half off for large dogs, and the other half for small dogs. Today I witnessed where a large dog shook a small dog like a rabbit, and that small dog had to be taken to vet and is in a critical state. Take care if you use this park, I will not be going back :(

      Wow,
I have used this park regularly for a long time and not seen anything like that,
Please let the council know if you have any details of the dog in question as this is not the sort of thing that usually happens here!

ALSO- I think its important to note this is not a problem of large dogs vs small dogs,
If your dog is antisocial it should not be at a dog park. Big and small dogs who are well mannered can play together happily

They should have a big dog and small dog section it’s a lot more to do with different breeds and their style of play I have boxers and they are perfectly fine with other dogs… However their play style is way too ruff for a small dog to handle so they need to be evenly size matched, they would get excited and jump allover a lil dog

I think this dog park might be a hit can’t wait to try it, my dog safi is all about wid open spaces, I am concerned that wide open spaces can be a bad thing, dangerous water, the chance of losing my doggy, I kinda need a little help on this one. Should I go here or shouldn’t I! O_o

I think, why not what the worst that could happen, life is not worth living until you can never have an awkward silence at dinner parties!

We took our medium sized dog there today it was a nice space for her to walk but certainly not a big park, there are 2 tunnels to go through and she has never doe that before but with some coaxing she went through one of them, I wish we had a park like this within walking distance of our place.

My partner and I took our 5 month old Chihuahua there. The dogs and their owners are very friendly and kind. I think now we are going to come here more often. We enjoyed it so much that we are going to bring our other dogs here.

Ther members of the Golden Grove Lions Club have just donated a shelter for this dog park. This was definately needed in the hot weather and perhaps in inclement weather also, as it will enable the humans to sit and relax and chat with other humans, whilst their dogs are enjoying the park itself. We are pleased to have been able to provide this itemfor the benefit of the dogs and their humans.
