You are missing a dog area, why?
It's impossible for us to get to every dog off lead park, reserve, trail and beach in Australia (although we're trying!), so we rely on others to provide us with the information about the sites. If you notice that our information is out-of-date, incorrect, or if you've got more details to add, let us know via the email above or using the submit page.
What do the icons mean?
The icons indicate the facilities available at each of the off lead dog areas.

Why doesn't the map show the exact location of the area?
The maps are currently created using Google Maps geo-coding based on the address provided. Where we don't have an exact address, or it's impossible to accurately identify the park location from a street address, then the map may not pin-point the location of the park.
What rules apply when using off lead dog areas?
Each council has slightly different requirements for using dog off lead areas so check the council website and signage at the park. You are required to have effective control of your dog when using off lead areas, which generally means that you can see your dog and that your dog will respond to voice commands.
In many parks, dogs are prohibited off lead in playground and bbq areas, and during organized sporting events, so it's usually best to put your dog on a lead in these areas. You should also be mindful of other park users and be sure to 'scoop the poop' and not let your dog harass other dogs or people using the area.
We've prepared a page 'Enjoying off lead areas', which provides some further information and tips on enjoying off lead activity responsibly with your dog.
