Hey Jo.
Is this still true then, that you can have dogs on Wanda Beach Cronulla on or off leash 7 days a week as long as it's before 10am and after 4pm. Can you please confirm?

Abbeville Street Park is one of those hidden secrets of Mt Gravatt where dogs can play free, kids can kick a ball and you can grow your own vegetables in the Communty Garden.

Hi Matthew,

Thanks for the update. I've edited the listing to indicate that dogs are permitted on-lead only.

Cheers,

Went down to the beach for the first time today and it was great. I saw no kiteboarders, so I don't know what all the fuss is about. It's a lovely beach and has a surrounding well maintained grassy area that my dog loved. Defintely recommended!

Hello I would like to inform all readers that due to heightened viticultural risk we have been forced to cancel the permission we granted for Tuck's Ridge to be a leash free zone for dogs. Dogs are still able to be on the property but must remain at all times on their lead and owners must clean up after their dogs.
This is to counter the introduction of diseases and parasites into our vineyard and indeed our region.
We apologise to anybody this disappoints.

Hey great park but owners of small dogs BEWARE! My 7 month old Westie got under the fence on the canal, slid down the steep ramp and fell straight in the Cook river! I could not get over fence to get in river to get her. She swam and was able to scale the steep wall back up to the top! I could not get her under the fence again! I had visions

Smaller dogs have big dog syndrome Jen and certain breeds can get hurt very easily if getting stepped on (just a normal play with a big dog) i.e mini dachies. I think its a great idea to have them separated.

I have been a local to Hawthorne Canal Reserve for 6 months and take my dog to the park at least twice daily. She LOVES it! Of course there have been a few incidents with dogs that are a little too exuberant, around the cafe when food is involved BUT this will happen any place that groups of dogs are playing together. There have not been any major run ins that werent able to be sorted with a calm, casual conversation between the owners. All the people I have met have loved animals and had respect and understanding of dogs natural behaviours. I can imagine that there are exceptions to this experience BUT dont give up on the park or its people. It is a gem!
