Went there today for a lunch time walk-et with Mum. It was a tad warm so was very grateful of the drinking fountain, although I was a bit high off the ground for doglets such as myself. The area is concreted, so no worries about mud.

There wasn’t any shade, so no sticks to play with, but I did find three of four old tennis balls lying around, which will be handy to remember if we’re ever without throwing objects.

While it was dry today, I would imagine this park gets very muddy when the weather is inclement. There were several patches of soft ground with clear doggie foot prints moulded into it. Gumboots and raincoats required on wet days.

The grass was patchy and long, great for long legged puppies. I’ll be looking for them to put the mower over it soon, as much longer and I won’t be able to see over the seed buds.

We didn’t stumble upon any ‘left overs’, so it appears the other bipeds are very good at clearing up after the kids.

Car parking, benches and water are supplied for the bipeds, and if you’re feeling like a gentle trot instead of a mad run, you can go into the park as long as you stay on-leash.

My Mum took some pictures (I was too busy sniffing and enjoying myself), I’ve posted them in an open album on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.173320679431045.38313.100002593433229&type=3).

Overall, I’d give this park **** out of 5 (purely because of lack of shade).

    Stay furry!

This dog park is awesome but they have to have a separate area for small dogs. I took my dog there once and freakin big dogs tried to attack my dog. Some of the big dog owners don’t care and they just watch my dog get attack. Bloody idiots Council please have a small area for small dogs. You have a huge dog park

Blacktonw council can afford to have a small fenced area for small dogs. Before someone gets hurt

i love this dog park, if only there was a nice cafe next to it and Blacktown would be rockin the vide of inner city pooch friendly culture.

Some uneducated dog users still don’t know dog park etiquette yet (yes, you have to pooper scoop!) so a witty dog park etiquette sign placed in a few places would go down well.

I appreciate the new sun shelters too, thanks for that guys.

Over all a really great dog park with lots of room. And paths to take leashed walks.

This reserve also connects to the western Sydney bike ways and if you adventure far enough you meet. Up on the track. Me and my pooch just love adventuring in this park. But snakes are around so have your wits about you, wear long trousers, sturdy foot wear and don’t wade into deep grass.

I am a regular user of this dog park and it’s a great facility. The trees are starting to grow nicely so there will be more shade soon but there are 2 covered areas with seats as well as other seats around.
My biggest problem with this park is the amount of people that don’t pick up after their dogs. If I see this happen I offer them a baggie to take care of it.
I contacted the council recently but they don’t actually look after it, and suggested they need more bins with signs reminding people to pick up and I think another water fountain at the other end would be handy.
    Great place though.

Great off leash park – our little ones loved their first visit to a big city style park (country bumpkins from the Southern Highlands – wish we had parks like this.

Owners we witnessed picked up after their pooches – and the bigger dog owners were courteous enough to let us know if their dogs were not good with little ones.

Would recommend this park to any dog lover

We love this park and use it regularly – great to see the trees growing and more work being done to improve it – we will also be going to the next Woof-fest which I believe will be in March 2013. A small problem is the poop bins. The Parklands were great for the first year or so and there were always poobags available but it has steadily dropped off and 4 times out of 5 there are no bags there anymore. I pretty much carry my own bags most times but I have had to walk back to the car to get them several times. When there are no bags I notice owners are much less conscientious about pooper scoopering and there are far more piles than normally. There are some great ideas about signage in the comments above as well. Thanks

    Lot’s of dogs here.

A lot of friendly dog owners who do supervise their dogs play.

Fence is about 1m, but my 4 month old Husky hasn’t even thought about jumping it.

    Will visit again.

brilliant park love taking the dog. my problem is people that make their dogs not run like maniacs. we were young and dumb once and used to have a load of fun. all dogs want to do is wrestle and play. some owners dog try to dominate which is wrong the other dogs are to soft and scared. when my staffy is there i push him to wrestke with other staffies or bigger dogs so the other people dont whinge. the look at staffies as dangerous and be careful because mine might lick you to death

when we were at the park today, there were a couple of staffies and they were the most gorgeous dogs. very playful and good natured. i’m glad Koda and I got to meet them. As for dogs running like maniacs………..isn’t that what that park is for.
