Albert Park

Albert Park is mainly an on-lead park. Dogs must be on a lead at all times except in the designated off lead areas. Off lead areas are located on the southern side of Aughtie Dr. See the map available on the Parks Victoria website for more detail.

Alfred Nicholas Memorial Gardens

Dogs must be on a leash at all times in the gardens. The gardens are open 10:00 am to 5:00 pm daily every day except Christmas Day. The gardens can also be closed to the public on days of Total Fire Ban, due to dangerous weather conditions or for major works. An entry fee applies.

Banksia Park

The open space, playgrounds and picnic areas of Banksia Park make it a popular location with visitors of all ages. The park is open every day from 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM. Hours are exended to 8:00 PM during daylight saving. Dogs must be on a leash at all times in Banksia Park.

Cardinia Reservoir Park

Dogs are allowed at Crystal Brook and Duffy’s picnic area but must be kept on a leash at all times. Cardinia Reservoir Park is open every day of the year. The park opens at 8:30 AM every day, but closing times vary according to daylight savings.

Dandenong Police Paddocks Reserve

Dogs are permitted in some areas of the park. All dogs in the picnic area must be kept on a lead at all times. Dogs are permitted on the Woodland Walk but must be on a lead at all times. Dog owners can run their dogs off lead on the two ovals adjacent to Brady Road. The Nerre Nerre Warren Picnic Area, at the end of Brady Road, is a newly developed picnic area that caters for a range of visitors and has barbecue and picnicking facilities, shelter from the elements and easy-access parking.

Koomba Park

Koomba Park is the most northern of the parks which comprise the Dandenong Valley Parklands. It was opened in December 1981 and extends for 33 ha between Boronia Road and Mountain Highway. Enjoy a quiet stroll through remnant vegetation alongside Dandenong Creek.

Dogs are permitted in the park, but must be kept on a leash at all times.

Nortons Park

Nortons Park, part of a chain of parks in the Dandenong Valley, boasts rolling grassed lawns that give the park a definite European feel. The land was once an orchard, and still contains a number of remnant fruit trees that burst into bloom in springtime. It is a great place to picnic with friends or, for the more energetic, work out on the cross country running track.

Dogs are permitted in the park provided they are on a leash and under control of their owners at all times. Please note that dogs are not permitted in the adjoining Shepherds Bush conservation area.

Yarra Bend Park

The largest area of natural vegetation near the city, Yarra Bend Park has large off-lead areas for your dog to run, sniff and socialise with other canine chums.
