Dog’s Day Out - Canberra

Sunday, November 16th, 2008

Today was the annual Dogs’ Day Out at Lake Ginninderra in Canberra which is organised by the Department of Territory & Municipal Services. It seemed to be a very well-attended event with lots of well-behaved pooches and their owners.

We went along to check out the new dog park, but despite the promo material suggesting that the official opening of the park would be occuring at the event, the gates remained locked. There was a sign on the fence which explained that the park would be open in mid-November as they were waiting for the new grass to grow.

Some pics of the park (from outside the fence) are below if you’d like a sneak peek….

The new park has lots of shade trees and heaps of space for doggies to run around.

Double-gated entry with concreted pathway (which should prevent it from becoming a muddy mess in winter!)

Canberra Million Paws Walk

Sunday, May 18th, 2008

An estimated 10,000 people and 4,500 - 5,000 dogs turned out for the Canberra Million Paws Walk today. The weather fined up nicely (although the recent rain meant that there were lots of muddy paws!). Clare & Jason had a great time watching all the dogs (especially the flyball competition) and we wanted to share some of our pics from the day…
